PRISON NATION 1943 - 1990

This documentary describes events in Albania from 1943 to 1991, when 50,000 Albanians were persecuted during the Communist regime. Original Albanian national archival footage and photographs are used as evidence of that time. Survivors tell their stories.

LOST VOICES: MAKING HISTORY

Excerpted testimonies of 18 former Albanian political prisoners describe various aspects of imprisonment and internment from 1944-1991 when more than 50,000 artists, writers, clergy, intellectuals, and even high ranking members of the Communist party, were persecuted. Survivors tell of hunger, hard labor, torture, children, family impact, riots, illness and death.

VOICE OF AMERICA: ROSE DOSTI

Rose Dosti, journalist of Albanian origin from the "Los Angeles Times", is the author of hundreds of articles and several books that speak mainly about the lives of Americans. Now, she has set herself the difficult task to collect, archive and publish the testimonies of those persecuted under communist regime in Albania. Dots spent a few days in our studios and was interviewed by Ilir Ikonomi.
